Good News for HWSDA Guilds!
This year we have a total of $3500.00 available to HWSDA members as grant money for you to use to sponsor workshops. Here is what you have to do:
1. send a proposal outlining your workshop plans and dates to
Marilyn Owens
17 Riverview Court
Cochrane, AB T4C 1K6
Your proposal should include a brief description of the workshop, the instructors name and the number of participants.
Be sure to include a contact name, phone number (or e-mail), a mailing address and the name to be put on the cheque.
2. the proposal must be received by Feb 28, 2010 and cheques will be issued before the HWSDA year end of March 31, 2010.
3. the workshop can happen anytime after May 24, 2009, but only proposals with confirmed workshops will be considered.
4. please note if the workshop is open to people outside of your group and plan to advertize that in the newsletter and on the webpage.
5. in return, we ask that at the completion of the workshop, you write up a short summary for inclusion in the newsletter/webpage. Pictures are welcome.
6. the $3500 will be divided equally among all accepted proposals, but only one proposal per group will be considered.
NOTE CHANGE: In the past, only member guilds have been eligible to apply for grants for workshops. This has been changed so that individual HWSDA members (or groups of HWSDA members) can now apply. Those members will take the responsibility of organizing a workshop for weavers, spinners and dyers in their area. Not all workshop participants need to be members of HWSDA but the organizers do need to be current members of the HWSDA.
