2011 HWSDA Conference
Call for Proposals
(Deadline: August 31, 2010)
The Heritage Weavers & Spinner will be hosting the 2011 HWSDA Conference. The conference will be held at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), Preconference – June 7 – 9thth, 2011 and the Conference June 10 - 12th, 2011.
We are now accepting proposals for workshop instructors for Preconference as well as the Conference.
Proposals can be for a ½ day, full day, or multiple day course. Morning sessions will run 9 a.m. – 12 noon; afternoon sessions 1 – 4 p.m.
Classes should be of interest to weavers, spinners and dyers.
All proposals must include the following:

Type of course, length of course and a brief description of the course

Instructor’s fee per day in Canadian dollars

Instructor’s cost travel, accommodations etc, if applicable

Indicate whether it is a hands on workshop, demo or lecture

Maximum number of participants in the class
-
Materials required by the participant or kit cost if provided by the instructor

Equipment requirements for each participant
In order to alleviate an overlap it would be appreciated if the workshops
submitted will not be available at another Alberta venue in 2011.
Payment will only be made for contracts where sufficient registration has been received for the course. Instructors will be notified a minimum of 40 days in advance of the conference is the workshop is being cancelled.
